Works with Microchip ATF15xx-DK3 CPLD Development/Programmer board or with any CPLD board with a 10-way JTAG header. Other JTAG devices can be chained with these Atmel CPLDs and bypassed by ATMISP7 software so your hardware can have one JTAG interface. The programmer also has a 14-way JTAG output socket but only 10-way cable is supplied.

The programmer is powered by the USB port, USB cable included. It requires a reference voltage from the target circuit, between 1.65V and 5.5V at 150mA (max) of current.

| Review Title: | ATF1500A and VHDL in UP1 board |
| Review: | I've successfully connected ATDH1150USB-K to the Altera University Programm board (also known as Altera UP1 boatd). ATDH1150USB-K header is pin-to-pin compatible with Altera ByteBlaster connector. I also replaced MAX7128S CPLD with Atmel ATF1508AS 84-pin PLCC. As a result I can programm ATF1500A using VHDL now (for FREE!). Altera Quartus II v13 WebEdition is VHDL compiler to produce POF file, POF2JED 4.5 and ATMISP v7 to programm CPLD. ATDH1150USB-K itself is not very complicated device, it's built aroud FTDI FT2232D http://dreamjam.co.uk/emuviews/old2011.php or http://www.techno-junk.org/ --> Old News --> 2011 TWI port is for programming Atmel AT17xxx FPGA configuration EEPROM. | Review Title: | Atmel USB JTAG Blaster |
| Review: | I recieved it last week from Kanda but since I live in the Netherlands I paid a lot more than the 53 euro's for the programmer because of the shipping costs. Sadly Atmel products can't be bought in my country, nor in Belgium, France or even Germany. So the UK and USA are the only possible selling countries. I guess the Jtag programming functions perfectly but my only ATF1508 cpld (from Ebay) was probably JTAG blocked after already been used? So the other extra TWI and X ports are still unknown to me yet. And mostly because no brochure is enclosed that explains them. And the little cd didn't help me much further either. The programmer is housed in a sturdy little box. I myself think a more rectangular box would have looked much nicer but probably because of the extra ports it needed this square box. And only the LPT version could be optained or build much cheaper, so you have not much choice than to buy this original Atmel USB Blaster. But I like the Altera and Xilinx software ánd USB Blasters better. They are easier to comprehend. At least for beginners anyhow. |
