Question:
My AVR JTAGICE emulator is not operating correctly after I changed version of AVRStudio. What do I do?
Answer:
The firmware update has probably gone wrong and left corrupted firmware. To force a firmware update to the current AVRStudio version you are running, follow these steps.
- Plug in JTAGICE, run AVRStudio and Select AVRprog from Tools menu
- If you get No supported board found error, make sure your USB JTAGICE is on COM1..4, see Changing COM Port for JTAGICE
- Use Browse in Hex File section to load Upgrade.hex in AVRStudio JTAGICE folder, normally C:Program FilesAtmelAVRToolsJTAGICE folder
- Program and Verify Flash
- Close AVRProg and power down JTAGICE
