AVRUPDI 12V Generator Order Code: 12V-GEN Price: £11.40
12V Generator Module for AVRUPDI Programmer
This module can be fitted to AVRUPDI programmer to give 12V entry for TPI and UPDI interfaces.
TPI InterfaceIf Reset PIn is set as GPIO by setting RSTDISBL fuse, 12V must be applied to Reset pin during programming. This module allows this 12V to be applied
UPDI Interface Some AVR microcontrollers that use UPDI interface need 12V pulse applied to enter UPDI if UPDI pin is set as Reset or GPIO in fuses. The behaviour is different for the 3 different UPDI interfaces- UPDI 1 - ATtiny- These have combined Reset/UPDI and GPIO pin. If UPDI pin is set as Reset or GPIO, they need 12V to enter UPDI mode. As well as this 12V generator, they also need an external adapter
UPDI-12V Adapter - UPDI 2 - ATmega, AVRxxDA, AVRxxDB parts have dedicated UPDI pin and NEVER need 12V entry
- UPDI 3 - AVRxxDD, AVRxxEA and later have UPDI pin that can be set as GPIO and need this 12V generator if UPDIPINCFG fuse is set to GPIO.
Fitting the module
1) Open the AVRUPDI case by removing the 2 screws on rear.
2) Remove jumper from 6-pin header by USB connector
3) Fit Module's 6-way connector on to the header and fit spacer into mounting hole on PCB
4) Reassemble the case
