Power Architecture 5xx/8xx ISP Software

PEmicro's PROGPPCZ software allows you to program/reprogram both internal and external flash devices in-circuit, via PEmicro's BDM interface cable (sold separately), on an MPC5xx/MPC8xx device with a BDM module. Please note that the MPC55XX/MPC56XX/MPC57XX requires a different software.

A compatible PEmicro hardware interface connects the PC to the 10-pin BDM connector on the target system and communicates with the processor through its Background Debug Module.

Supported Devices

PROGPPCZ for Windows also includes the command-line version of the programmer software - CPROGPPCZ. Together they are perfect for development, production line programming, or field firmware upgrades. In addition, the programmer comes with PEmicro's library of MPC555 and MPC8xx programming algorithms.

Compatible Hardware

PEmicro USB Multilink Universal FX is a high-speed, all-in-one development interface which allows a PC access to the Background Debug Mode (BDM). The FX's high-speed USB interface allows communications between your Windows machine and the standard debug connector on the target.

Licensing

The license that activates PROG now resides on a Multilink debug probe rather than in the software itself. The user who activates the software will choose a Multilink on which to permanently install the license. The allows that Multilink to work with PROG on any machine where a supported version of the software is installed. No license is required to use PROG software with Cyclone programmers, as the Cyclone includes PROG software.
