Please run setup.exe from CD to install compiler and then use this document
The installer will install all documentation, sample code and development software on your hard drive. It will not install Programmer software, on separate CD.
The main elements of the system are
Training board for AT16V8
USB Programmer for all PLDs
CUPL development environment
Software elements
CUPL is the development environment for writing and compiling code. The version on the CD includes a template generator for pin assignments.
Programmer Software - for USB programmer
Atmel WinCUPL
A windows version of CUPL with a simulator built-in is available free of charge from Atmel. You just need to register to get your free copy.Register for WinCupl
Run the programmer - Wellon Programmer Software or use Wellon desktop Icon. Then plug in programmer hardware
Running Programmer
The CUPL compiler produces JED files, which need to be loaded into programmer.
Install Programmer software - on CD in programmer box
Plug in Programmer hardware
Run software
Select your target PLD device from Select menu, but make sure Device type is set to PLD
Load JED file
Carry out programming operations or use Auto Program (F8 key)
If you are using 16V8, you can then insert it into test board.
Note: No power supply is included for trainer board. You need a 9-15V DC PSU with standard 2.1mm barrel, centre positive.
